Paula Bongartz

Paula Bongartz is currently the Manger of Business Development for Hunter Douglas. Previously, she had been Director of Hunter Douglas Training and Alliance Programs, where she worked with retailers and designers to assist them in growing their sales. Paula developed, co-ordinated and conducted training programs with topics relating to Sales & Development, Selling Skills, Business Building, Hunter Douglas Product Knowledge, Color Trends and Interior Fashions, and Being "Green". Her understanding of Hunter Douglas products, competition and how to sell projects to your customers helps her to assist you with your concerns and needs as a designer. An integral part of any business, no matter what the size, is to understand the financial metrics that reveal whether a business is profitable.

The ability to read a financial statement, figure margin and mark-up, and determine the profitability of a project is necessary for any business. Her desire is that through this series, each of you will become as passionate about the business side of your company as you are the design side. Both are necessary to find success. Paula has been a Sales Director at the wholesale side and Brand Manager of Window Fashions at the retail side. She has an Associate's Degree in Interior Design and over 30 years' experience in the home fashions industry.
